The Schwartz Brothers
Just south of Motala, where the countryside of Östergötland opens up with rolling fields and a peaceful rural idyll, Bröderna Schwartz Lantbruk is based.
It is Martin and Simon Schwartz who hold the reins, two brothers who share both a passion for cultivation and a common desire to deliver produce of the highest quality.
Leeks and cauliflower are the farm's specialties, and they are crops that leave little room for carelessness. They require the right soil, the right weather and a trained eye, something Martin and Simon have after years of experience on the plains outside Motala.

Hi guys, what is the best part about your farm?
It is the variety in the work; one day is rarely like the next.
How many of you work on the farm?
We are three people, plus extra seasonal staff.
If you hadn’t worked with your cultivation, what do you think you would have done then?
Airplanes are a big fascination, so maybe a pilot?
What do you prefer to do on a day off?
You have to make time to be off, and then it mostly becomes spontaneous trips around, to experience things.
What is your best tip for a hobby grower who wants to grow at home in the garden?
You can’t just let it "be"; you have to constantly tend to your cultivation.
Which period of the year is your favorite?
Harvest time is the most fun, to get to harvest what you have taken care of.
