Prästtorps Gård
Fornåsa is an Östergötland village area where open landscapes, fertile soil, and rural simplicity create ideal conditions for cultivation and farming. It is here that Prästtorps Gård has its roots.
The farm is currently run by brothers Erik and Anders Blomqvist, who, with extensive experience and strong commitment, keep the cultivation alive.
At Prästtorps Gård, rhubarb, rutabagas, organic rutabagas and celeriac are grown, ingredients that require patience, expertise and a feel for the rhythm of the soil. Each season is handled with great care for taste, quality and the environment. Something that shows in the final result.

Hi Erik and Anders, how many of you work on your farm?
We are six people, that is, four others besides us.
Which crop is your favorite?
Rutabaga is a favorite; it is the most challenging crop, which makes it fun to grow.
What happens on the farm during the off-season?
Can you really call it the off-season when you are servicing machines?
If you hadn't worked with your farming, what do you think you would have done then?
We would have liked to develop something and would then have liked to study a technical program.
Running a farm takes a lot of time, we can imagine; do you have the chance to take time off, and what do you prefer to do then?
We can absolutely take vacation. Then we like to travel away; sun and swimming and skiing are wonderful.
What is your best tip for a hobby grower who wants to grow at home in the garden?
To get a simpler drip irrigation solution, for more even watering and soil moisture.
Which time of year is your favorite?
Of course, when it is time to start harvesting.
