Pineapple
March - September

A sun-ripened tropical classic
Pineapple is one of the world’s most beloved tropical fruits, and it’s easy to see why. With its juicy, sweet flesh and distinctive aroma, it is as good to eat as it is beautiful to look at. Pineapples are mainly grown in Costa Rica, the Philippines, and Colombia and are harvested throughout the year.
Pineapples, unlike many other fruits, do not ripen after harvest. That is why the right harvest time is crucial for the flavor.

Aroma's Picks
In the heart of Costa Rica, surrounded by protected nature and brilliant sunshine, San Lucar’s pineapples are grown with care and patience. Here, the growers monitor the fruit closely every day and harvest it only when the sugar level is perfect and the fruit is beautifully yellow and sweet. San Lucar’s growers let the pineapples bask in the sun for longer, resulting in a sweeter, juicier, and more flavorful fruit.
Did you know that
Did you know that pineapple contains the enzyme bromelain, which can break down protein? That's why fresh pineapple can make meat extra tender in marinades, but also why gelatin won't set if you mix it with fresh pineapple.
