Orange
November - March

The Spanish citrus season has a special place in our hearts
The orange is one of the world’s most widely grown and consumed fruits and has a natural place in both the kitchen and the store. With its fresh tartness, natural sweetness and high vitamin C content, it is just as good to eat as to juice. Oranges are grown in many parts of the world, but the best flavors come from countries with lots of sun and clear temperature differences between day and night.
The season plays a major role in the orange’s flavor. During the winter months, the quality is at its very best, as the fruit has ripened slowly in the sun and developed a deeper, sweeter taste. We always select oranges with care so that we can offer a fruit that truly leaves you wanting more.

Aroma's Picks
From November onwards, we recommend oranges from Poppy, grown in small villages near Valencia, Spain. Here, the climate is ideal for citrus cultivation during the winter months. Mild days with alternating sunshine and rainfall produce sweet and juicy fruit, and the cool nights intensify the fruits’ orange hue.
Did you know that
Did you know that at the beginning of the season, citrus fruits often have a lighter, sometimes yellow or green, hue compared with later on? This is because the deep orange color requires cool nights to develop, and these arrive as the Spanish winter becomes more pronounced.
