Potatoes
May - October

Swedish potatoes are a natural part of our Nordic cuisine and one of our most beloved ingredients. The season begins with the eagerly awaited new potatoes in June and continues with storage potatoes well into autumn and winter.
New potatoes are harvested early in the summer and are characterized by their thin skin, firm texture, and mild, nutty flavor. They are often boiled with dill and served with summer meals. As the season progresses, autumn and winter potatoes take over. These varieties are left to mature longer in the soil, which gives them a fuller flavor and better storage properties. Overall, Swedish potatoes are harvested roughly between May and October, depending on the variety.
The Swedish climate, with long bright summer days and cool nights, helps the potatoes develop excellent flavor and texture. Our range includes everything from classic firm and floury potatoes to more delicate varieties such as Amandine, Mandel, and asparagus potatoes.

Aroma's Picks
We warmly recommend potatoes from our grower Mattias at Östra Fornås Lantbruk. Together with them, we have also developed our own potato, Gorumet, a bag of extra fine, small, round beauties. For those in the restaurant industry, we also offer a wide range of pre-cooked, peeled and sliced potatoes that can make your operations more efficient.
Did you know that
Did you know that cold potatoes contain more of the so-called resistant starch than freshly cooked ones? When boiled potatoes are allowed to cool, some of the starch is converted into a form that acts more like fiber in the body. That means potato salad made from cold, boiled potatoes is not only delicious, but it also produces a more even blood sugar response compared with freshly cooked potatoes.
